The Year of the Belt

In our 60-year history we have seen the belt evolve from a basic necessity, to a major staple, and now a modern accessory. Today’s men are using the strap as its own statement, or to complement and enhance their ensembles.

Our top seller is the cognac belt with denim blue stitch detail, and the black pebble grain is a close second. The biggest surprise is the influence of the exotic belt. It works well with boots, but we are also seeing it paired with anything from a slip-on loafer to a leather tennie. The semi-custom belts come in alligator, ostrich, shark, and more.

Be on the lookout for our anniversary belt collection coming soon!

Monk Straps Are Here!

The monk strap is back! These timelessly elegant shoes by Magnanni come in a variety of styles that transcend generations, and they are comfortable enough to wear all day.

As our gents travel frequently for both business and pleasure, it is imperative to be able to pack efficiently and consolidate outfits for those quick business trips or long weekends with loved ones.

Here’s a great way to pack for three days away, using the versatile monk straps as a starting point:

The first outfit is a mid-blue, softly textured, small ghost plaid suit. Add a blue and white dress shirt with soft pinstripes, and pick your personal color of tie with a pocket circle. Finish the look with monk straps and a belt.

The second outfit is a pair of medium-dark blue jeans to wear on the plane, the monk straps, a Calder Carmel shirt, and a shore jacket from Eton.

The third outfit is a Ken’s sport coat, Hagan shirt, and Brax 5-pocket pants, plus the monk straps and a casual belt.

Decided to stay an extra day? You can mix and match items from the second and third outfits to create an entirely different look.

These monk straps are not only a great styling choice, but they also add an air of sophistication to any outfit in your wardrobe.

Shades for All Seasons

Vincero, our newest collection of sunglasses, is now on the sales floor! Their watches have been doing extremely well, and no doubt the shades are also going to move quickly. They are sturdy, stylish, ideal for our Dallas spring and summer, and perfect for all the travel in the coming months. The most impressive part is the price: most styles in the collection retail for $145!

Ken’s Rentals for Events

The haberdashers receive outfit requests for many different special occasions in addition to weddings and prom! These photos are from one of our great clients, who recently celebrated his 60th birthday with a Gatsby-themed bash! He really took the look to the next level with a Bailey of Hollywood hat, Brackish bow tie and an Eton tuxedo shirt.

Kramer was invited to be a groomsman at a recent wedding. In addition to performing his groomsman’s duties, he also outfitted the entire wedding party in Ken’s best.

A Peaceful and Loving Holiday Weekend

The Easter/Passover weekend is a special one for us and many of our clientele. We have three or four days off, spend time with family and friends, and take moments to express gratitude for our lives and our loved ones.

I was extremely excited and grateful this weekend to be with my entire family. It usually happens more consistently during this time of year than during the Christmas season. Our family has kept this tradition since my grandparents were the host and hostess, gathering with all the grandparents, parents, cousins, aunts and uncles, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren.

We have a saying in our family: love spoken here. We use these occasions to really check in, encourage, re-bond, and communicate our love for each other. It has not always been easy, but it is absolutely necessary, especially as our families grow and spread across the nation. We are not unique in this— I know that many of you have these long-standing family traditions as well.

I hope you all enjoyed a blessed and happy Easter and Passover. All of us at Ken’s wish you and your family a joyous spring season!

As always, thanks for reading!
