A Really Big Thank You — We Won!
We officially won the 2023 Preston Hollow Advocate award for Best Men’s Clothing Store! Our little generational neighborhood haberdashery could not have done this without you and your support. We appreciate your loyalty, friendship, and most importantly the continual “modeling” of Ken’s attire throughout the metroplex.
We have been runner-up for many years, but this is the first time we have won top honors. It is not about bragging rights, but about being accepted in Preston Hollow as a top store. We haberdashers understand this only happens with the true support of our clientele and community.
Many thanks to each and every one of you! We truly appreciate you and we are grateful to have this honor for our shop.
Cowboy Cool is Back
And just in time! The Cattle Baron’s Ball is celebrating its 50th year supporting the American Cancer Society. Last year’s record-breaking fundraising event raised over $4 million! This year they have Shania Twain performing, and an even bigger board of auction items. Ken’s has a small part of the board, so please take a peek!
We have been buying, sourcing, and prepping for this year’s event. We will be introducing Teleria Zed and other brands to have you ready not only for the gala, but also for the rest of the Fall 2023 season!
This year you will see Ken’s mannequins in denim shirts with soft jackets, fashion western shirts with pearl snap fronts, distressed enzyme-washed colored stretch denim jackets, and much more! All these Italian items will have limited availability, so first come, first sold.
Save the Date
Our next big event is right around the corner!
On Thursday, September 21st through Saturday the 23rd, we will be opening the Fall 2023 season with two of our favorite custom brands at our Samuelsohn and Jack Victor custom event!
Once we receive all the fall swatches and samples for our suits, sport coats, tuxedos, and slacks, your haberdasher will be calling to schedule a private appointment.
A Samurai in the Making
Our resident haberdasher Kramer is also an experienced Sensei in Kenpo Karate. To truly understand the importance of the physical training, one must also understand the other aspects of this discipline. The fight, or battle, is budō in Japanese. The passion, character training, and general moral code of one’s daily life combine to form the way of bushidō.
Kramer continues to hone his skills as a haberdasher, bartender, and chef, but this past year he has also picked up sewing as a craft. He has made a few outfits for himself already, but the ones that get the most attention are the ones he wears when he brings his skills to the mat (tatami). Kramer loves to be a role model for his younger students, and assists them with sewing patches on their gis (karate uniforms) as well.
A true bushidō. It is not the art of perfection, but the perfection of an art.
As always, thanks for reading and being part of the Ken’s community!
