We hear many clients’ stories about their weight loss journeys. But no matter why or how, our concern is simply how it affects your wardrobe, both now and in the long run.
Your haberdashers are here to advise you during this journey. Many are asking to bring in their old suits, sport coats, and slacks to be refitted. While it is possible, you have to ask yourself, is it the right thing to do? If these pants or jackets have been in your closet for at least four years, and been worn well, they may not be worth altering. Even if the fit looks better, you have to consider how much life is left in the fabric. Sometimes it makes sense just to replace it in your new size. It will fit better and last longer.
We can review all the items in your wardrobe and pick the best ones for our team of tailors to work on. We highly suggest adding a few fresh items in your new size to complement your altered items. Has your weight loss had an effect on how you feel about yourself? New clothing that fits well will amplify that feeling.

Your Formal Wardrobe
We are stocking more styles of accessories than ever for the amazing number of formal events happening in and around Dallas. We are seeing it all, from charitable black-tie events to formal beach weddings!
If you already have your own tuxedo and a black bow tie, then it’s the perfect time to upgrade one or more of the following pieces to have a more established formalwear collection:
— Get two looks for the price of one with a a reversible black bow tie. We can make these custom as well!
— How about a new style of tuxedo shirt? Add texture to the bib, an overprint, or even a hidden stud front.
— Our favorite trend is swapping out a dinner jacket to change the entire look. Imagine a white dinner jacket, a black patterned one, or even a double-breasted formal coat.
Just a little tweak and the entire ensemble is new!

The Samuelsohn Spring ’26 swatches have arrived. We are already scheduling appointments for our Trunk Show on March 5th – 8th, but we really want to see you even earlier! Come in to place your spring order of suits and sport coats, and we will make sure your order is at the top of the pile. This way, when the trunk shows dates hit you don’t have to fight for appointments or swatches – your work is done and your fabrics are reserved.

A Quick Weekend Read
One of my favorite pastimes is reading, and couple of newsletters ago I wrote about a book called King of Diamonds. I have had so many great discussions from others who have read or are currently reading the book!
I have read a few other books since then, but one in particular stands out: Theo of Golden. In today’s ever-changing world of constant news, social media, and people asking for our attention, there are times when we need to escape. During those times, we need reminders of kindness, ethics, empathy, and generosity within a story of goodness. Theo of Golden is that book. Please let me know your thoughts.
