Haberdashery News – April 2026

My Favorite Holiday

Our annual spring holidays are right around the corner! This year your haberdashers have brought in many different styles of items and outfits for you in time for Easter and Passover.

Whether you are donning a suit, a sport coat with 5-pocket trousers, or maybe just a pair of shorts and a polo, you’ll want to choose lighter and brighter fabrics.

Whatever you wear this year, I hope your Easter celebrations and Passover seders are full of family fulfillment, happiness, and peace.

Spring Has Sprung

Halsey and Deke shorts have arrived in 6-inch, 7-inch and 8-inch lengths.

In addition, Raffi, Cotton Cashmere, Garnet, Luciano Visconti, and Bugatchi have all arrived early. Slip into one of their amazing polos.

Plus, throughout the season we will continue to bring in more and more short sleeve crew knits that pair with everything from shorts to suits! You may have seen sportscasters wearing a t-shirt with a jacket or a suit.

It’s a cool look, but won’t work with just any casual top. For the right presentation, you must choose a certain type of fabric, collar, and color. We’re here to help.

Some of these are “one and done” styles, so the first ones in will get to choose from the best selection. Thankfully, many are available for us to reorder. We look forward to showing you why we brought in so many styles and colors this season!

These Boots Were Made for Walking…

Ken’s has signed a deal with Tecovas boots. Your haberdashers will be carrying exclusive styles that can’t be found online, nor at national retailers.

We will also have access to their entire lineup of boots, so we look forward to showing you our selections and introducing you to modern City Western style!

I Didn’t Have a CLUE

Along with a few special clients, I attended the Grant Halliburton Foundation’s Beacon of Hope Luncheon, supporting mental health awareness and teen suicide prevention. The presenter this year was Mr. Steve Burns, the original host of Nickelodeon’s Blue’s Clues. This one captured my attention! Why was Steve Burns talking at this event? He was always funny, charming, and goofy. He entertained my children for years on his show. My oldest child even walked around with a Blue stuffed animal!

What I didn’t know was that Steve was suffering from severe depression the entire time. He didn’t know it either, and ultimately left the show because of it. He returned to the stage to share his heartfelt story with the world, and we all received his honesty with love and understanding.

You never know who or why someone is suffering, at any age. Being there to listen is important, but just the beginning. If you know anyone under the age of 20 who is going through their own personal battles, please contact the Grant Halliburton Foundation for more support.

We are proud to be part of such a supportive community.

Kory’s Book Corner

A deep weekend read for you

I grabbed this one from the shelves, but it had been around for a while. I heard of it from my family, and forgot to get it back then. The timing was perfect.

Once you’ve read it, please let me know. I would love to discuss it with any and all of you, for the story has stayed with me days after I finished the last page. You can grab your copy at Bird’s Bookstore, our neighbor in Preston Village.
