Help Prevent Crime
It is not only here, but everywhere — the haberdashers have begun to mention to our clients (whom we think of as extended family) that there has been a significant uptick in smash-and-grab robberies in Dallas. We have been hearing about it in Preston Center for months, but recently there have been occurrences here too.
Please do not leave anything of value visible in your car, not even for 30 seconds! These drivers will pull up next to or behind you and literally smash your window and grab what they see, then get back in and drive away. If there is nothing to see, then there is nothing to take! Protect your belongings and yourself from having to deal with any of these issues. Awareness and prevention are important factors in slowing down this unfortunate trend.
Celebrate Local!
We are happy to announce another Dallas brand partnering with Ken’s! Beginning this week, we are welcoming MELT. candles into the shop. We hope they don’t melt with this extreme heat, but jokes aside, we know they won’t!
MELT. candles are created, crafted, and sold locally, and we are their first true retail partnership. Teri, the owner and curator, is a DISD Phys Ed teacher. During the pandemic she created MELT., and has been selling her products at local markets ever since.
The candles are 100% organic, soy, and hand-poured, with innovative wooden wicks that sound like a crackling fire. What makes these candles different is their unique refillable vessels, made of hand-poured concrete. After the candle has burned to the bottom, you can refill the vessel again and again by purchasing wax inserts in any fragrance, or you can reuse the concrete container for something else. When Teri came to the shop, she showed us how teachers use these containers for multiple purposes! They can be pen holders, succulent pots, or just general containers for small items.
Ken’s will initially stock three varieties of these aromatic candles for your home or office, and then in the late fall we will be introducing more fragrances from the range.
Please drop by and see our new MELT. candles!
