Haberdashery News – Late October 2025

Flannel Season Is Coming

It really feels weird to write about flannels when it is 90 degrees outside, but the season can change in a heartbeat, and it will!

We have more flannels than usual this season — explore new styles from Eton, Stenstroms, Calder Carmel, and Hagen. Each brand puts a unique spin on their flannels, some with snap fronts, and others with button-down collars and chest pockets.

Wear yours under jackets, untucked with denim, or tucked with colorful 5-pocket trousers.

Drop in to feel, see, and try on our favorites of the Fall 2025 season!

Is It a Sweater, or Knitwear?

Your haberdashers call sweaters knitwear. Why? Because ours won’t make you sweat! Ken’s superior lightweight “sweaters” can be worn layered, with a tee or undershirt, or by themselves. Some of our knitwear pieces are actually lighter than t-shirts!

We have knitwear in a multitude of styles: crew neck, quarter-zip, and high v-neck. The brands behind this season’s knitwear are Patrick Asaroff, Visconti, Raffi, Hagen, and Cotton Cashmere.

Remember the Dallas saying about the weather… give it a minute!

We also have traditional sweaters in a variety of blends and styles from Naadam, Raffi, and Lenor Romano.

Where Does Partners Card Come From?

If you do not know, or are new to Texas, it’s important to understand what Partners Card is all about.

The Family Place is the parent company and provider of Partners Card Dallas. The Family Place has been around since the 1950s, but really grew when Partners Card began 33 years ago.

Your $100 Partners Card pays for one night in a shelter for a woman escaping domestic violence. The Family Place provides shelter for women and their children, giving them a place to heal, get counseling, and even learn a new trade. The Family Place also has one shelter for men.

Partners Card is The Family Place’s largest fundraiser, with a goal of $1.4 million to support women, children, and men experiencing abuse.

In the 1970s my grandmother, Hermine Sallinger, would take me to help volunteer. She instilled in me at an early age about the importance of community service. I would stuff envelopes and lick stamps on Saturday afternoon so they could mail out information about The Family Place. Every year we honor her memory by participating in this important fundraiser.

Parking at Preston Royal

Parking can be challenging here, especially during Partners Card and the holiday season.

The easiest time to park is from 10 to 11:30am, and 2 to 6pm. If you need to come in before or after business hours, please call or text us to make arrangements.

Did you know? We have two entrances, and we find that during lunchtime hours it’s best to park by the south entrance (facing Royal Ln).

For pick-ups, please call or text us and we will have someone quickly deliver your items to your car for convenience.

Finally, please do not leave anything of value in your car that can be seen, especially during Partners Card and the holiday shopping season. This goes for anywhere in Dallas.

Thank you, and have a safe and fun shopping experience!
